Portfolios pt.1
Video 1-
1. The name of the photographer is Jordan Murphy.
2. The general focus is sports, but there are some other photos.
3. The judges noted that there was good composition, but the photos were crowded. Also, the photos seemed somewhat artificial and postcard-y.
4. The judges liked the good lighting at times and the beginning strong pictures.
5. I think the the photographer captured a lot of good action shots, but the photos are a little crowded and becoming merged often.
Video 2-
1. The name of the photographer is Sam Adams.
2. The general idea of the portfolio is action and sports.
3. The judges thought some of the photos had crowded pictures and need more action shots. They also thought that the pictures seemed too far away.
4. The judges liked the lighting and the composition.
5.I think the pictures can capture a lot but they are taken from weird angles that capture too much unnecessary things. The silhouette pictures were also good.
Video 3-
1. The photographer's name is Nick Adams.
2. The general focus of the portfolio is people.
3. The judges noted that the focus was a little off, the photos were badly framed, and the photos were a little boring.
4. The judges liked how the photos were taken from different angles, and that the photos were different compared to other portfolios.
5. I didn't like this photographer's portfolio that much because all the photos seemed too busy and unbalanced. I did like however that some photos had uncommon subjects.
Video 4-
1. The nam oef the photographer is Carlos Delgado.
2. The general focus is a woman's story, etc.
3. The judges noted that the background was crowded, and the bad lighting ruined some photos. Some pictures also needed the background to be partially focused and it wasn't.
4. The judges liked some photos because of the exposure and different angles.
5. This photographer seems to be a people person and, I liked how I could tell what was going on in most pictures, even if I couldn't see caption.
Winning Portfolio-
A) The judges noticed strengths such as good color composition, and good angles like he was with the teams.
B) I think that a weakness of his was basic angles and some staged photos. I think the photographer was good at capturing strong moments.
Contest Recap-
A) The judges chose the winner by going over the top portfolios. They then looked at how many strong pictures and the focus of the portfolios. The winner was chosen because he had 15 strong pictures, whereas the other portfolios had really good pictures, but limited amount of them.
