The article highlights different preparations the team has done in order to get ready. Also, the article explains the hardships that have happened and the goals for this competitions. The article is about the varsity cheerleaders. It is about preparing for the competition. The article doesn't really take place anywhere, but maybe Bowie. This event is on Feb.10th. The articles purpose is to give the reader insight on the preparations made by the team. The article summarizes the event and quotes cheerleaders to let the reader know what is happening. The strongest quote was made by a cheerleader talking about the importance of the competition. It wasn't the most interesting sentence, and I wouldn't have read it if I didn't have to. Students Bridget Alvarez,  Tanya Zint were quoted along with coach Amie Roggerman.

2. Peaceful protestors hope to solve long-lasting problems
The article is about The Women's march and the goals of several protests. Reporter Reagan Wallace writes about about the protests happening since Trump was elected into office. The article also gives some insight into the history of women's rights. The article is mainly about the protests happening. It also explains the history of women's rights and why protests are happening. Reagan writes about the Women's march in Austin, Texas. The article writes about the march that took place on January 21st. The article gives the reader information about protests for rights and women's rights. No one was quoted in this text. The lead sentence did make me want to keep reading because I like reading about things like this.

3. Native Americans bring diversity into the community
The article is about the different Native American culture at Bowie. The article focuses on a student who is a registered Native American. The student talks about the pros to being a Native American. The article is about student, Cody McDowell. It focuses on the fact that he is a registered Native American. The article focuses a lot on Cody's life at Bowie. The article is on February 10th. Also, the article talks about how the fact that Cody is Native American and how it impacts him. The article uses quotes and personal stories to explain to the reader how the subject's life is impacted. The only person quoted in the story is Cody McDowell. The strongest quote in my opinion is when Cody talks about how he may not look like a stereotypical Native American. It is strong in my opinion because it  helps show the reader how it impacts his life. The lead sentence made me want to to keep reader because it made me wonder what information could be included in the article.

1. Photo on A1
The photo is of the varsity cheer team cheering at a Bowie game. The photo is a good photo in my opinion, but there is a lot going on in the background. The photo shows the topic of the article pretty clearly, and the light in the background is kind of awkward because it is just a blob of white in the back. In the photo I see point-of-view and maybe lines. The main subject is one cheerleader, but the whole team may be a subject. The photo is exposed well. I can see some evidence of deep-ish depth of field.

2. Photo on B2
The photo shows a boy doing squats with weights, it is kind of hard to see the lighting because it is black and white, but it looks like there are a lot of mergers and unnecessary things in the photo. The photo goes with the article well. In the photo I can maybe see rule of thirds with his face. There is also a different point-of-view. the main subject is the boy weight-lifting. the photo is well exposed but there seems to be a shallow depth of field.

3. Photo on B7
The photo shows a subject preforming tricks with a yo-yo. The lighting seems to shine well on the subject, although it is black and white. In this photo there is a lot of simplicity. The main subject is the yo-yo performer and his yo-yo. the photo is well exposed. I think there is a deepish depth of field.

4. Photo on A8
The photo is of the subject preforming a stunt on a gymnastics beam. The lighting is sort of bright and white. The photo is also kind of blurry, and the you can tell what everything is in the background. The photo also isn't a photo that is 'pleasing' to look at. The photo shows maybe point-of-view. The subject is a sophomore named Kate Stubbs. I think that the photo is not really exposed that well because it is bright, yet blurry. i see a shallow depth of field.

5. Photo on B8
The photo focuses on a woman holding up a sign during a protest. The lighting seems nice and natural making the photo more 'pleasing' to look at. There is simplicity in the photo because the subject is way more in focus compared to the background. The subject is obviously the woman holding the protest sign. The photo is well exposed with a deep depth of field.

1. My favorite photo in the entire paper is the one of the woman holding a protest sign that says,"Girls just wanna have fundamental rights".
2. This is my favorite because the subject is clear and the lighting makes the photo nice to look at .
3. This photo shows simplicity and maybe depth of field.
4. My least favorite photo is the one of the gymnast preforming a stunt on a beam.
5. This is my least favorite because the lighting is really bright and the photo is blurry with a focused background. The focused background takes away from the main subject way too much.
6. I would have liked to do the Women's rights page because the event seemed fun. Also, you could get a lot of amazing photos because of the diversity of the protest.
7. i would rate the photography a 6-7 out of 10. some of the photos were nice and clearly showed the subject and how it related to the article. Meanwhile, other photos were not well taken and didn't make me want to read the article. The photos should be well taken because it can impact if someone wants to read the article or not.
